Q&A with Gerrie
Q: How much of an improvement in business practices and standards have your clients achieved , percentage wise, since being certified ISO ?

Gerrie: Some of them in excess of 100%; BUT this is only achievable if the company employs dedicated staff to manage the system. By this I don’t mean that is the only job they have; I mean people that are sincere about making these systems work, and who continually look for improvements.

Q: If a company has had a bad experience with an ISO implementation and or consultant, what would you do to restore their confidence, to not only trust ISO again, but fully endorse it in all it's company operations ?

Gerrie: We will talk to the client choosing the moment very carefully; reminding the client firstly that their company was not the first company that had poor service / record with consultant / standard. And will probably not be the last. Remind them of the benefits of ISO and concentrate on how easy it is to help them to get back on track. Ensure you win their confidence and end your meeting on a positive note, ensuring they have confidence, that we can assist them to take a leap forward.

Q: Is it possible for Micro-Q Consulting to venture out into overseas territory, for instance, Europe or the America’s instead of just Africa ?

Gerrie: Practically we are currently too small to do that in the short term; we do, though, have a vision to extend our services beyond our own continent in the future; we have ventured into Botswana, Angola, Nigeria and Mauritius. Long term, we may go beyond that, as we have in fact have had an enquiry from a motor industry related company in Portugal.
